So in bried it is the Smartware share folder that is missing.

The only share folder missing is Smartware and that is where all the backup from my windows machine are including the photos. I open the WD Photo and after clicking through I get to the list of shares as shown in my original message, All3Girls etc. So as I have mentioned, I can see all the pictures on the ‘My cloud’ app on the iPhone as they are shown on my home computer. I am able to view them using the ‘My Cloud’ app on the iPhone and they are shown in a parent directory (My Pictures) and all the sub folders each containing many pictures. When I backed up my windows with Smartware I selected the items I wanted to back up and didn’t use categories such as documents and pictures. They are seperate backups but both to the same cloud mirror.

I backup my windows 7 machine using Smartware and my partner’s Mac backup uses time Machine.

In answers to your quesions and to clear up ambiguities on my part. Hello Tony and thank you for taking an interest in my query. ‘Leave me in the dark and I will find the light’.Ī couple of questions – why are you backing up with SMARTWARE into the TIMEMACHINE folder?Īlso, when you’re using Smartware to backup the photos, are you backing them up as FILES (using Sync) or are you backing them up using the typical “Bundle” method which does not actually store Photos as Files – they’re files containing TONS of files, which, of course, the WD Photos won’t even try to display.

I have uninstalled the app off the phone and reinstalled it but things are as they were, not right. TimeMachineBackup with 0 photos (INCORRECT, there are lots)īut the main one which holds all my photos, Smartware (Backup of my windows machine with all the pics), is no where to be seen. I mean hello !!!! Don’t you think i know to make sure the cable is working or not ? WTF.When I go into it and it goes into My Cloud Mirror it just shows 4 of my share folders.Īll3 girls with 5,777 photos (probably correct) AND TRUST ME, I”VE GOOGLED A LOT A LOT A LOT OF SOLUTIONS! Apple discussions and tech support ? FORGET IT. NONE, i repeat, NONE of the solutions online worked.

PERSISTENTLY ! NOW I CANT even back up my data on the iPhone6, CAN’T SYNC, CAN’T ACCESS THE PHOTOS on my iP6 and SUPER FRUSTRATED. It worked temporarily and then the problem happened again. I’ve been trying to fix this shitty problem for days, weeks now and whatever solution still doesn’t work. i can’t believe all these problems, especially that unable to backup because phone disconnected (even after using the original cable) is STILL PLAGUING US USERS since iPhone3 and their old iOS. All the iPhone6 problems – random shutdown, photos gone missing after the random shutdown, STILL unable to backup to iTunes because phone disconnected, phone heating up, iPhone6 SLOW down sluggish performance after 1 year of usage. The good news is that your photos are indeed saving so once you fix the problem, all the photos that seemed to have not saved will be there in the Photos app. The phone had been running fine, and the photos were being saved without any problems until they suddenly just stopped.

The more perplexing thing is that it suddenly appeared even though there was no recent firmware update made on the device. It certainly dates back a few months according to many online forums. It’s not clear what is causing this problem. Step 5: Restart your iPhone one more time for good measure and your problem should be solved Step 4: Tap the Share button at the bottom and send the photo to a contact over iMessages Step 3: From inside the camera app, tap the thumbnail of the photo you just took to view it Step 2: Open the Camera app and take a photo The problem appeared randomly and not after an update or reset. The phone in question is an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2. The good news is that there’s a pretty easy solution that worked on my phone and here it is. A quick search showed this problem has been plaguing users since iOS 8.1 with no solution in sight and no acknowledgement from Apple that this was a genuine problem. As soon as I would select the photo, the Messages app would freeze. Another error I kept encountering was that I was unable to send photos over iMessages. The photos I took via the Camera app appeared as little thumbnails in the app but when I switched to the Photos app they weren’t there. A few days ago, my iPhone randomly stopped saving photos to the Photos app.
